Adventure Trips

All trips are designed to provide participants with exciting outdoor recreational opportunities. Trips are open to all Ohio State Rec Sports members. Participants must be at least 18 years of age to participate in an adventure trip. Our intention is to provide powerful group building experiences that help participants develop new friendships, learn lifelong wilderness skills, develop leadership qualities, increase interpersonal skills, and expand appreciation and concern for the environment.

Trained student or professional staff lead all weekend adventure trips. Prices for these activities include program-specific equipment, transportation, food, camping fees, and required permits unless other arrangements are specified in the program description.

For more information on trip eligibility, registration, and costs, please review the document on the right.

Trip Registration

Registration for trips is offered on a first-come, first-serve, basis during regular OAC business hours or online. When signing up for a trip, a 50 percent deposit must be paid to secure a space. Deposit fees may be paid with Visa, MasterCard, personal checks, cash, BuckID, and inter-departmental or student organization charges. Refer to our web site for deposit amounts (50 percent of total amount) as it pertains to specific trips, refund, and cancellation policies. The remainder of the trip amount must be paid by the Tuesday prior to your trip date. Each trip includes a mandatory pre-trip meeting. See the calendar and trip descriptions for information on specific trips. Register now!

OAC Resource Center

Need information on an outdoor activity, want to learn new skills, or plan an adventure trip of your own? All of this can be done at the Outdoor Adventure Center (OAC) Resource Center.

Situated next to the Tom W. Davis Climbing Center in the OAC, you can find material on a variety of outdoor sports, such as rock climbing, skiing, backpacking, biking, and fishing. There are also popular adventure sport magazines, computers with a pre-installed topographic map program, and a growing collection of maps and atlases.

Since material cannot leave the resource center, we have a cozy reading area where you can enjoy the compelling information that is available.
