1. Veteran's Day Holiday at Rec Sports
Rec Sports facilities will remain open to serve members and guests Wednesday, November 11. University offices will close and academic classes will not meet next Wednesday in observance of Veteran's Day.
Special Fitness Programming Note: There will be no group fitness classes held Wednesday November 11. Also, in celebration of the Thanksgiving holiday, there will be no group fitness classes after 1 p.m. Wednesday, November 25 and no classes November 26-29.
2. Winter Quarter Tennis Draw
Time to plan for the Jesse Owens West Tennis Center's Winter 2010 tennis draw. The draw will occur Tuesday, December 1, 2009 at 6:05 p.m. at Jesse Owens Tennis Center. It is recommended that participants arrive and check-in closer to 5:30 p.m. Reservations will begin Sunday, January 3, 2010 and run through March 12, 2010 (March 27, 2010 for Extended Reservations). Email Erin Hummeldorf (hummeldorf.8@osu.edu) with completed contracts, questions or concerns. 3. Community Programs Private Swim Lessons
Private Swim Lessons, Session 2 begins next week! Registration is still available for classes offered Sunday through Friday. Web registration closes Friday, November 6 at noon; however in-person registration is available during office hours 9 a.m. - 5 p.m. Registration will close by noon each day for the classes held that evening. 4. Outdoor Adventure Opportunities
November has arrived along with active opportunities to get involved! Register to become a Certified Wilderness First Responder. Course registration is available at the Outdoor Adventure Center, 855 Woody Hayes Drive, until November 11. The certification fee is $580. The course will take place December 11-17. Break that cabin fever by joining the Outdoor Adventure Center's winter break trips. Learn mindfulness and coping skills while kayaking the Suwannee River and the Big Bend coast of Florida December 11-20. WITS (World Instructor Training Schools) Personal Training Certification Course now open for registration! Course begins Saturday, January 9, 2010 at 9 a.m. The six-week course is available for just $489 to Recreational Sports members ($539 for non-members).
